Honestly speaking, a 25 LPA salary package is no more a big deal, looking at the current industry trends in the IT and software industry!
Now, before I tell you how, let me first tell you which companies actually pay Software engineers a package near about 25 LPA in India—
- Ola pays an average package of ₹18,00,000—25,50,000/ year
- At Uber, Software engineers get an average package of 22,04,000–24.11,000
- Swiggy pays its software engineers anywhere around Rs 18–25 LPA
- At Urban Clap, software engineers salary starts from 14–17 LPA and reaches 25 LPA in 2–4 years.
- Flipkart pays an average package of Rs. 21,93,000/ year. So, you would reach 25 LPA within 1–3 years.
Since you’ve asked this question, I am assuming that you too probably want to earn a 25 LPA salary package. For this, I’d advice you to aspire for a Software engineering role at one of such leading product based companies. Moreover, in fact earning 25 LPA is not a big deal today as software engineers are earning as high as 1 crore per annum in India. Product giants like Facebook, Oracle, Google and Microsoft are the ones that offer huge packages. But usually, these companies hire candidates (although very few) from the creamiest layer of top notch colleges, say IIT’s and NIT’s, etc.

So, you can imply that earning a package of 25 LPA is no more a big deal and you too can possibly earn it provided you have the requisites that these top product based/ tech companies seek in their software engineers.
Taking this forward, here I have suggested a list of pointers you should emphasis on, that would help you land at top tech companies—
- Having skills in the latest technologies that these top tech companies use for development is the minimum requirement to fulfill in order to land a job. In software engineering, Full stack developers are in much trend and are earning the best of salaries. Companies expect their full stack developers to work on projects end to end. By this I mean that you need to know complete Front end & Back end development. Now, for front end development you need to know— HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular, etc. While for back end, learn —JavaScript, Java, Express.JS, Node.JS and Cloud deployment/AWS, etc. With skills in these technologies and tools, you would be working on developing dynamic user interfaces and server side of websites.
- Without coding skills you don’t stand a chance to get in a good tech company. I don’t mean to discourage you but tech companies that pay well look for software engineers/ full stack developers that have excellent coding skills. So, just copy pasting codes won’t help you in getting placed there. Plus, understand data structures and algorithms,if you aspire for a job at tech based company.
- Hone your non technical skills as well. As you might already know, product based companies work on development based projects. Moreover, most of these projects are never been attempted before. And so, to easily work on them without much hand holding, companies expect you to have strong logical, reasoning and problem solving skills.
- Finally, some real work experience. Almost every company looks for a experienced candidate these days. Moreover, product based companies do not believe in providing extensive training to candidates rather employ those who are already job ready. So, here I’d recommend you to attempt an handful of full stack projects before you appear for an interview. Working on projects would help recruiters believe in your skill set and be sure that you are job ready.
Summing this up, here is what you should do to land at a good product/ tech company—
- Acquire the requisite skills
- Work on a variety of projects, hone other skills and build a portfolio
- Get hired
Now, if you are looking for certificate courses, you can use Edureka, Udacity, Simplilearn, etc. Here you get to learn skills and technologies through pre recorded video lectures. But certificates probably won’t help you get a job.
Alternatively, I’d suggest you to use edWisor. It offers a career path in Front end and Full (MEAN) stack development. This includes skill learning from scratch, working on projects and a guaranteed job assurance. In fact it has partnered with 200+ product companies hiring their developers based on projects people work on here. So, you can try this out.
PS: Stay dedicated and give your best. This way, you would surely reach a 25 LPA salary package soon!
